How Edith Piaf conquered her men

One can talk about the tragic fate of Edith Piaf for a long time. She was born in poverty and died in poverty. In her youth, she experienced the death of her only child, and in her prime, the death of a beloved man. As a child, she fought against blindness, in old age – with cancer. And almost all her life, the great singer suffered from alcohol and drug addiction.

Edith accepted her plight but did not complain. “Ten minutes of happiness a day is already pretty good,” she said. Edith Piaf had many novels. This tiny woman changed partners like gloves and was never afraid to leave. As soon as the singer felt that her feelings were cooling down, she left the man without hesitation and went in search of new love.

While touring the United States, the star met French boxer Marcel Cerdan. Marcel became the main man in the life of Edith Piaf. One circumstance prevented the happiness of the lovers – Serdan was married and had three children. Until the end of his life, he was torn between his family and his beloved woman.

One day Edith invited him to New York. Serdan dropped everything and took off. His plane crashed near the Azores. The star saved herself from the deepest depression with morphine, alcohol, and work.

At the very end of her life, Edith Piaf had an affair with the 27-year-old Greek Theophanis Lambukis. The 20-year age difference did not interest the woman. At that time, she already knew her terrible diagnosis – cancer. Due to illness at 47, the singer looked like an old woman, while Theo resembled a Greek god.

The couple was frankly laughed at, Theo was considered a gigolo. No one suspected that Piaf had not a penny behind his soul. The young husband fully supported the dying singer. Theo was a real fan of Piaf and idolized her. He proved his love to the very end: he looked after his beloved, fed with a spoon, read aloud to her, gave gifts, showed comedies. This went on for their entire family life, which lasted 11 months.
